Genobank

Genobank is building BioIP Vault, a system to securely store entire genomes (100GB+) onchain with conditional decryption. Using Story’s Programmable IP Licensing (PIL), researchers or AI can access only the specific genes they need — like BRCA mutation data — without ever seeing the full genome.

With TEE-based secure computation, raw DNA data stays protected, while every access is tracked, permissions remain patient-controlled, and automatic payments go to patients when their data is used for discoveries.

Story Protocol is rolling out a major new feature, the IP Vault, designed to manage and secure highly sensitive intellectual property on-chain. This innovation provides a trustless solution for handling valuable digital assets such as music masters, AI training datasets, and medical information.

Instead of storing the raw files, the IP Vault secures encryption keys on-chain. This allows creators and businesses to set complex "conditional decryption" rules, ensuring assets are only accessed under specific, predefined terms. The feature is already being explored for real-world applications in AI, music, and healthcare.
